This work celebrates another iconic and much loved store in Canberra- Impact Comics, Garema Place. I particularly enjoyed sketching the bright comic style font in the sign on the awning and in contrast, the faded grungy look to the sign near the roof. I was in the company of a large number of noisy magpies and curious onlookers when I sketched this one.

Prints have a small white border suitable for framing and have been printed with archival pigment ink on 100% cotton rag to last for years.

This is one of Canberra’s best-loved shoe shops, located in Garema Place in the heart of Civic. I was drawn to the splashes of bright red in this scene with the awning, lettering and the notice board on the footpath.

I created this sketch of the National Library of Australia on a hot summer day while sitting under the shade of a big Plane tree across the road. As I sketched I chatted to a friendly security guard, listed to the happy sounds of children splashing in the cool fountain water and was serenaded by birds.
